Basic Project Setup in Adobe Premiere Pro CC

Prior to launching Adobe Premiere Pro, create a project folder on your external hard drive and give it a name. Your folder should contain the following sub-folders
a) “Media” folder (where you will store your video, audio, and image files in their own sub-folders),
b) “Premiere Pro Project” folder (where you will direct your scratch disks).

1.Launch Adobe Premiere Pro CC and create a New Project:

  • Name: type the name of your project (e.g. “Define a Space_Teodora Altomare”)
  • Location: Click on Browse >> select your external hard drive >> select your project folder.
  • Scratch Disks: Set your Scratch Disks by clicking “Browse” and selecting your project folder.
Note: Setting your Scratch Disks directs Premiere Pro to save your project in your project folder as you make edits and click “save”, and helps you maintain a clean workflow. You only need to set your Scratch Disks once.
